Smart Pet API (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have in relation to it.

By using our website and API services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the Service:

• Account data: your name and email address, provided when subscribing.
• API usage data: request counts, timestamps, and endpoint usage — used to enforce plan limits and display dashboard analytics.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and server logs retained for security and debugging purposes.

• To create and manage your account and subscription.
• To deliver your API key and login credentials by email.
• To enforce your plan's request limits and rate limits.
• To send transactional emails (account creation, billing events).
• To respond to support requests.
• To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity.
• To improve the reliability and performance of the Service.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising purposes.

We share your data only with the following categories of third-party service providers, strictly to operate the Service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Receives your email address and payment details directly.
• Email delivery provider — sends transactional emails on our behalf. Receives your name and email address.
• Hosting infrastructure — servers and databases used to run the Service.

All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements consistent with applicable data protection law.

We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active and for up to 90 days after deletion or cancellation, to handle any disputes or refund requests. API usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for billing and analytics purposes. After these periods, data is permanently deleted or anonymized.

We use strictly necessary session cookies to maintain your authenticated session in the dashboard. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Request data portability.

We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted data at rest, and access controls limited to authorized personnel. However, no system is 100% secure — we encourage you to keep your API key and password confidential.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
